How Do I Switch to Allow continue Blocking Microphone Access Chrome

I need to allow microphone access


I denied microphone access and now I cannot enter the room.
When I try to enter the room, it asks me to allow ClassDo permission to use my camera and microphone.

You might have blocked ClassDo or your browser from accessing your microphone. Follow the steps below to re-allow your microphone. You can choose to switch off your audio once you have entered the room.

In this article:

  • Allow ClassDo.com to access your microphone
  • Allow your device browser to access your microphone

Allow ClassDo permission to access your microphone

From the device test screen or within the virtual room, click the lock icon at the left of the address bar.

Click on the drop-down menu next to Microphone and select Allow.

Alternatively, click on Site settings.

Then select Allow beside Microphone.

Refresh your browser.

Tap the three dots icon at the top right corner, then tapSettings. Scroll down and tap onSite settings, then tapMicrophone.

There are a few reasons that your microphone cannot work in ClassDo. Ensure that microphone is allowed in each of these scenarios:

1. Allow microphone in Chrome browser settings

Tap on the switch to unblock Microphone.

2. Allow Chrome browser access to device microphone

If you see this message "let Chrome access you microphone", refer to the steps below under "Allow your browser to access your microphone".

3. Allow Classdo.com to access microphone

If you see app. classdo.com under the Blocked list of sites, tap on it. Then select Allow.

Refresh your page

Scroll upwards and tap the three dots icon, then tap theRefresh button.

Alternatively, keep scrolling upwards even after you reach the top of the page until the refresh symbol appears as shown above.

Allow ClassDo to use your microphone

In the device test page or in the virtual room, tap on the microphone switch. Click Allow if prompted to give ClassDo permission to use your microphone.


Click on Safari and click Preferences, which are located at the top left corner. Alternatively, you can also use press command + , at the same time.

In Preferences, click on Websites. Then, click on the Microphoneicon. Enable access for your microphone by clicking Allow.

Refresh your browser.


On the ClassDo page, tap AA at the left or right side of the website address bar.

Tap Website Settings. Under "Allow app.classdo.com to access", tap Microphone, then tap Allow.

Tap Done.

Refresh the page.


From the device test screen or within the virtual room, click the lock icon at the left of the address bar.

Click on the drop-down menu next to Microphone and selectAllow.

Refresh your browser.


Allow your browser permission to access your microphone

Open Microphone Privacy Settings

Click here to open your microphone privacy settings. You will be prompted if you would like open Settings. Then follow the instructions below depending on the Windows version your device is running.

Windows 11 Windows 10

Ensure that

  • Microphone access is set to the on position.
  • Let apps access your microphone is set to the on position

and that

  • Microphone access is turned on.
  • Allow apps to access your microphone is set to the on position.
  • Allow desktop apps to access your microphone is set to the on position

If you are using a macOS device, click the search icon at the top right of your screen to open Spotlight. Type in " Security and Privacy" and select the System Preferences panel.

Click on Privacy and click Microphone. Then, ensure that Google Chrome is checked. If the checkbox is unchecked, click on it to allow Chrome to access your microphone.

For the access to take effect, click Quit & Reopen. This will automatically close all your existing Chrome tabs, including ClassDo, and reopen Chrome. Go to classdo.com and enter your room again.

Android 12

If you are using Android 12, you may need to turn on system-wide microphone access. On previous versions of Android, you do not need to turn this on, click here to skip ahead.

Open the Settings app.

Select Privacy.

Ensure thatMicrophone access is switched to the on position.

Continue by following the instructions below.

All versions of Android

Long press on the Chrome app icon and select App info

If you are on an older Android device and cannot find the App Info button

Open up your phone Settings app. Tap on the search icon at the top left corner. Type in "Chrome" and select Chrome under App Info.

Select Permissions.

Select Microphone. Then select Allow only while using the app, or Allow if you are using a device running Android 9 and below.
